If so, then we are looking for you!The purpose of the role is: To provide strategic input, support and expand Hitachi after sales market share, comprising of parts & service, within the South African mining and construction sectors. Duties & ResponsibilitiesFinance, Risk and Compliance:Set budgetary goals for annual sales targets, operational budget, capex budget and headcount budget.Manage annual and monthly budgets for sales and gross profits for both parts and service departments.Carry out monthly tracking and reporting against set budgets.Report on budgetary variances as required and recommend/implement remedial action.Lead the function, department or divisional unit and its objectives effectively in line with approved operational, capex and labour budgets and submit recommendations to the Head of Division:LCS.Oversee the integrity and accuracy of all financial data before submitting to Finance and Corporate.Assess, review and authorise departmental payments as per the delegation of authority for processing according to approved budget and policy.Review costs vs. benefits, report variances, recommend and implement remedial action to minimise variances within scope of control.Manage the Division’s risk exposure through identification, implementation and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise liability.Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures. Operational Excellence/Service Delivery: Strategy Formulation, Implementation, Management and Business PerformanceImplement strategies in line with the business direction to increase efficiencies and operational standards of excellence. Ensure the meeting of agreed turnaround times while curbing costs.Align departmental strategies and objectives to business strategy.Provide annual, quarterly and monthly reports to the Head of Division:LCS Product SupportEnsure the provision of technical and professional advice, support and consultation to customers.Ensure that any after sales related contract terms and conditions are authorised by the Head of Division:LCSEnsure employee’s technical competence are measured before operational activity starts.Provide accurate advice to the relevant stakeholders aligned with customer needs and ensure queries are resolved within a set time frame.Work with Regional Headquarters as needed to improve the products.Support the sales team, if there are any technical tender related requirements. PartsMaintain and grow both existing repeat customer and new repeat customer market share.Implement new business opportunities as identified through the HPPV (Hitachi Parts Potential Value) and SPE (Service and Parts Engineer) concept.Ensure sales targets are met according to budgeted parameters. Check and oversee the selling price while considering the balance between the market price and the appropriate GP.Forecast, plan and execute stock levels to balance demand and availability.Oversee management and control of company parts inventory DOH and sales amount. ServiceControl and Manage labour recoveries and implement startegies to reduce irrecoverable labour.Ensure that “Voice of Customer” queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.Implement new business opportunities as identified through the HPPV and SPE concept.Control and manage aftermarket service activities.In line with Procurement Policies implement and manage service level agreements and commercial contracts with service providers.Report on operational and non-operational statistics of national construction equipment fleet.Report and submit work-in-progress exception report.Oversee disputes and queries in terms of debtors.Ensure that the service fleet is being utilized in an effective manner. Control the management and the preparation of new equipment and selling of services, parts, out-work and assets.Control the administration of pre-delivery inspection documentation and warranty registration.Oversee and report on the warranty claim acceptance ratio.Ensure that repetitive product related issues and solutions are reported to senior management.Control the management of Service Repeat work and implement Improvement policies and procedures. EngineeringLead the engineering function.Ensure all new products and attachments are supplied within the specified timeframes as per the Sales Division delivery schedules. Ensure that all repairs carried out on customer components and attachements are completed within the specified timeframes.Manage quality and safety of operations. Strategic Initiatives/Projects: Lead and coordinate special projects with the approval from the Head of Division:LCSEnsure the completion of projects to client’s satisfaction. Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally.Ensure open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.Liaise with the necessary entities on any product, manufacturing or sales and marketing related requirements and alignment where applicable.SHE Compliance: Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks.Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. SHE ManagementParticipate in regional/local bodies and decision-making forums in the process developing a business relevant external environment, that will result in the longer-term sustainability of the Division.Work diligently to constantly improve internal and external processes within your areas of responsibility.Review and endorse department’s documents in line with the Quality Management Objectives. Quality Management System (QMS)Approve department’s documents.People Management: Recruitment:Design the division’s discipline structure to support the achievement of the organisational mandate.Review and approve labour plans around organisational targets. Performance Management:Provide leadership and inspire team members towards high performance.Manage performance and development of reporting staff.Set the specific division’s discipline performance targets and criteria that align with organisational goals for the team. Employee Relations:Drive the Organisational Culture and Climate within the Division to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and employee safety. Training and Development:Drive a culture of Learning and Continuous Improvement within the specific Division to ensure achievement of organisational objectives and safety.Mentor individuals to enhance the individual`s knowledge, skills, values and attitude.Create opportunities for development through participation and involvement in new business or technology enhancement projects for team members.Provide coaching to team members on an ongoing basis. Desired Experience & QualificationQualifications: Advantages / Preferred skills and qualifications:Certificate: Diesel Mechanic, HEM, Millwright, Engineering Diploma or equivalentDiploma in Business Management or Diploma in Project ManagementMinimum Engineering/commercial/technical NQF6 Diploma Experience: Minimum 10 years’ operational experience in the mining and construction after market sectors (preferably with an OEM)At least 10 years’ experience in a Business Management role.Proven track record in similar role preferably with OEM.Good understanding of Construction and Mining equipmentGood knowledge of multiple Life Cycle Support functions namely Parts, Service and EngineeringMS Office Proficient Legal: Medically fit to work in the specific business area.Clear security screening record.Valid driver’s license.
