Job Advert Summary

To Assist Artisan in performing maintenance work by moving, pushing, carrying equipment spares and tools.
Carry out any reasonable instruction and to perform it in a safe manner.

The overall responsibilities are to support the provision of Research and Development (R&D) solutions to Operationalise the implementation of the Risk based Innovation Driven Rand Water Strategy

Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 or Equivalent
Good Communication Skills
Knowledge of the instrumentation field
Ability to do minor instrument repairs
Basic recognition of tools

Primary Duties

Conduct research as directed by the RWI’s business plan and R&D’s divisional objectives.
Ensure alignment of the research approved to the strategic risk register of the organization.
Participate in collaborative research programs as required by memorandums of understanding/agreement.
Manage and monitor project/s schedule/s of RWI strategic partners to ensure adherence to MOU/A.
Foster national/regional/global collaborations with Research/Academic Institutions.
Assessment of research proposals suggested for RWI and/or its partners.
Management of the database of the research undertaken using organizational information.
Management of annual RWI’s Innovation, Research and Development stakeholder Forums.
Involvement in commercialization ventures of completed research.
Demonstrate value-add from research in the Water and Sanitation Sector.
Support the development of R&D Framework and procedures for Rand Water
Carrying of tools and materials
To clean up machines and work area when job is completed
Ensure good housekeeping is maintained
Follow safe work procedures
Assist Artisan, Workshop Assistant with job related duties and collect spares from stores
Do plant inspections and report any unsafe conditions to the Supervisor and/or Artisan
